Family

I would always hear my friends complain,

About their annoying

Little sister,

Or their jerk of an

Older brother.

So I didn’t feel

I was missing

Out.

But now,

I’m older,

And so are my friends.

Their annoying little sister,

Stood up for them one day;

She took her sisters hand,

And told her family sticks

Together.

And that jerk of an older

Brother,

Held his sister’s hand,

And rubbed her back as she

Cried,

Over the jerk of a guy who

Broke her heart;

He told her he would do

Anything

For her, because families stick

Together.

I have no older brother,

Or younger sister.

I don’t have a puppy,

Or a kitty.

I have my big empty house,

Filled with presents and toys,

A spoiled only child;

That’s what I am.

So I sit in my home,

And I hold my teddy bear,

Tight.

And I whisper to him:

It’s okay if it’s cold,

And it’s okay if it’s empty;

I’ve got all the family

I need, right here with me.

And I bury my head

In his tiny little neck,

And I tell him I love him,

And I tell him it’s okay,

And I tell him I would do

Anything for him,

Because we are a family,

And families

Stick

Together.
